La Dolce Vita or Il dolce far niente, you can find them only in Italy. Italy has its own charm, it will drag you into another dimension of Il Dolce Far Niente, but not just anyhow, with style, and you will come for more, like a drug addict. I don’t know, Italy simply inspires me.

I’ve been so much to Italy that I feel it’s my second home. It’s only natural that my favorite city in the whole world is Italy. Did you guess which one? FIRENZE, ma Certo! (Florence, of course).

Sicily (Sicilia in Italian) is my favorite island in Europe, simply because it has a lot to offer: the tastiest food in the world (watch Julia Roberts in Eat Pray Love and you will understand better), good wines (I am capable of trading a Bordeaux for a Nero D’avola anytime), very rich history and impressive architecture, amazing beaches, some hidden gems you need to know of, gelato (like literally THE BEST ice-cream in the world) and CAPPUCCINO.

But Sicily, in terms of food is best known for Granita, Cannoli, and Pasta alla Norma. I feel like boarding a plane right now and going to Italy just for a gelato. This is what Italy does to do. Every time you think of Italy, you just want to be there in that instance.

You can pay with international credit cards everywhere, starting from 1€. Some restaurants might impose a minimum payment of 10€. Here you cannot split the bill on different cards.
In a very beautiful restaurant in Puglia, this funny, but so true, message was written: “We are not French. Here you don’t split the bill. One of you has to pay.”

ATM: they are easy to find everywhere in the country, you just look around you and you will find a Bank with an ATM.

Connexion: The Internet is at a very good speed, with 5G. Wi-Fi connection everywhere you go, free or on demand in some restaurants or hotels.
If you are from the EU, roaming is free of charge. You can call and connect to your mobile data as if you were in your country of origin without extra costs.

Railroads: You will have connections through all the country and connecting other important cities in Europe, easily accessible and not that expensive. In the peak, season prices might go up, but they are still reasonable, for train travel.

Plugs: Plugs are Type C, F, and L. The standard voltage is 230V, and the standard frequency is 50Hz.

Best Time to visit

The most visited season in Sicily is definitely SUMMER, from June to August, but it’s very crowded, so the best would be to go off-season, starting from April until October included, as temperatures are still warm and you can enjoy the island uncrowded.

Sicily is quite expensive during the Summer season for airplanes and accommodation. Book in advance or go off-season.
