TRAVEL GUIDE to the CZECH REPUBLIC
This is your ultimate travel guide to the Czech Republic!
CAPITAL: PRAGUE
The Czech Republic is a country with amazing people, one-of-a-kind, splendid castles and chateaux, the valleys of several rivers, mining museums, silver mines, and enchanting countryside! And the capital, Prague, is one of my favorite capitals in Europe.
The Czech Republic has become one of the major tourist destinations in Europe, receiving over 20 million visitors yearly. The capital, Prague, is the most popular destination, itself receiving over 8 million visitors annually out of which almost 7 million are foreign.
Prague is known for the famous Charles Bridge, the Vltava River, and the Prague Castle. Prague has a rich history, Gothic cathedrals, medieval squares, incredible bridges (17 in total over the Vlatava river), an abundant art scene, vibrant nightlife (better know your alcohol before cheering with a local), and culinary temptations.
Locals do not eat before finishing a bottle of beer, even if they eat alone, at home.
Say HELLO in the Czech Republic
Ahoj (ah-hoy) = Hi/Bye.
Čau = informal equivalent, derived from the Italian Ciao.

When in the CZECH REPUBLIC
YOUR TRAVEL GUIDE
European Union: The Czech Republic joined the European Union in 2004.
Language: The official language of the Czech Republic is Czech, although fluent English speakers are common in the Czech Republic.
Currency: The official currency is the Czech koruna, also referred to as the Czech crown. The Czech Republic is currently preparing to adopt the euro.
Card Payments and Cash Withdrawals:
Prague is generally a card-friendly city, still have some local cash with you. It’s best to get your koruna from a respectable source, but avoid using the exchange offices at the airport, bus, or train stations.
ATM: they are easy to find everywhere in the country, you just look around you and you will find a Bank with an ATM.
Connexion: The Internet is at a very good speed, with 5G. Wi-Fi connection everywhere you go, free or on demand in some restaurants or hotels.
If you are from the EU, roaming is free of charge. You can call and connect to your mobile data as if you were in your country of origin without extra costs.
Railroads: Trains are efficient to move from city to city, or to reach other countries in Europe. Traveling by train in the Czech Republic allows visitors to admire the landscape. There are over 7 000 trains in the Czech Republic that cross the country every day, servicing routes between the major cities, as well as connecting them with Austria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.
Plugs: Plugs are Type C and E. The standard voltage is 230V, and the standard frequency is 50Hz.
Best Time to visit
The best time to visit Prague is in the spring and early fall when the weather is mild and there are fewer crowds.
I’ve been staying in Prague for 2 weeks around Christmas time as is as spectacular as in other major European capitals. There is an unveiling of the Christmas Tree ceremony which is absolutely fantastic.
