10 SAFEST COUNTRIES TO TRAVEL TO FOR
SOLO FEMALE TRAVELERS
There are so many places to visit in this world, that a lifetime is just not enough. Going on a Solo Trip is a life-changing experience. Might sound difficult the first time and I know a lot of people around me that are scared to take the step, but trust me: Once you go on a Solo Travel you will definitely want more.
I’ve been traveling alone since 2014 and I’ve traveled to many countries on my own since then. And it’s a perfect thing. Traveling alone can be very challenging and frightening sometimes. Going on a Solo Female Travel is not something to be ashamed of, or scared of. If you do your homework and eliminate unfriendly places for solo travelers and unsafe places for solo travelers, you still end up with a long list of beautiful places that you can experience while solo traveling.
The following list is based on my experiences as Solo Female Traveler because I like to recommend only places where I’ve been and had a blast. Anyway, based on my experience, I would say, that in general, Europe is one of the safest and most friendly continents for solo travelers.
10 SAFEST COUNTRIES TO TRAVEL TO FOR SOLO FEMALE TRAVELERS
NORTH OF ITALY
I’ve traveled alone everywhere in Italy, from North to South. My best Solo experiences were in Milano, Roma, and Firenze. As you descend to the South, in Puglia for instance, locals started to look at me like weirdly. I even had issues getting a table in a restaurant or I got only the smallest table, thrown in a corner. In Napoli, in a very famous pizzeria, I didn’t even get a table, they put me in front of a wall and the service was despicable. I do not recommend the South of Italy alone. They are very traditional people and so Catholic.
SICILY ISLAND, ITALY
The island is famous for its cathedrals, vineyards, island beaches, and amazing architecture, but mostly, for its delicious food like cannoli, granita, and pasta alla norma. Feel free to travel alone on this beautiful island. They might be shocked at first, hearing you are traveling on your own, but they will soon praise you for your courage. And the food and service are impeccable.
FRANCE
France is the country that has thought me that Solo Traveling is perfectly normal. Especially in Paris, people are used to doing things on their own, like going to the cinema, to the museum, to the opera, or on a solo trip. Even restaurants are prepared for one, maximum, two people. So no worries, you will not be put in a corner like in Italy. French people are very open and will never make you feel uncomfortable. I’ve even been alone on Corsica Island and French Riviera and had a great experience. I would totally recommend France for Solo Traveling.
GREECE
I loved everything about Greece. I’ve been alone for 3 weeks in Greece, doing a tour of the islands and I’ve met some wonderful people. Greek people are so nice, so helpful and the service is impeccable. I’ve never felt ashamed about being alone in Greece because everyone is treating you with kindness and I’ve met a lot of solo travelers from all over the world.
BALI, INDONESIA
It’s not named the Land of The Gods for no reason. When you get there, you feel that the Gods decided to create Paradise on Earth and thus, Bali emerged from the sea. If you want to start your Solo traveling journey, Bali is the perfect place to start from.
SINGAPORE
This tropical city-state is the greenest and cleanest island you’ve ever been to. Singapore will never cease to amaze me and I had such a blast as a solo female traveler in Singapore. I loved every minute of it. Four days are necessary to discover Singapore.
ROMANIA
Romania would not be on your Bucket List and it would be such a shame to miss this incredible country, with beautiful landscapes, virgin forests, and beautiful people. They will invite you into their homes and give you everything they have to ensure they are the perfect host. After all, even King Charles III fell in love with Romania.
PORTUGAL
Lisbon is the stunning capital of Portugal and one of the most vibrant cities in Europe. You must visit this European capital to understand its vibe. Unique in the world. Lisbon cannot be explained, you need to live this experience on your own. Every single female friend of mine that’s been alone in Lisbon had the time of her life. But Portugal has much more to offer, beautiful beaches, excellent vineyards, and amazing landscapes.
CROATIA
You might have heard of Dubrovnik as the place where Game of Thrones was filmed, but it is known for its rich history and culture, stunning architecture, and beaches. Well, Croatia is more than that and totally safe when it comes to Solo Traveling.
People are very nice, very funny and they never say no to a great party.
PUNTA CANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
It’s the paradise of any Solo Traveler, known for its gorgeous white sand beaches, luxurious resorts, and tropical vibe. I had the best time of my life on this island. Despite all the rumors, if you respect some safety rules while solo traveling, Dominican Republic can be very safe.
I met a lot of solo female travelers and we has such a nice time together. We still keep in touch even today.
