7 REASONS WHY SOLO WOMEN GO ON SOLO TRAVEL

women start GOING on solo travel more & more!
According to new research from MMGY, one in four female travelers plans to travel solo in the next six months with Gen-Z and Millennials leading the way. Due to social media influence, the Solo Female Travel niche is anticipated to dominate the global leisure travel market. If before the pandemic, according to Booking.com, only 14% of people were going on a solo trip, now, after the pandemic, 23% say they will be planning a solo trip in the future.
As women, we always need a reason to do things, imagine then, choosing to go on a solo trip and leaving everything behind. Here are the 7 principal reasons why we women choose to go on a solo trip, more and more these days.
1. to see the world and not wait for others
I think this is a general behavior since the pandemic. We no longer want to be stuck in an office 35-40 hours/week, but prefer to live like nomads and explore the world. We no longer want to lose time while waiting for others to have time and come with us on travel, but prefer to take the bull by the horns and wander the world alone.
I enjoy traveling with friends because there is a sense of belonging to a community, accessibility to some activities you wouldn’t do alone, and travel cost reduction, but, of all of the travel experiences I’ve had so far, some of my best memories end experiences are from my Solo Trips.
Why? Because when you Solo Travel you establish your own pace, your rhythm, you don’t have to make concessions. You do whatever you like when you feel like it.
2. for doing want we want when we want
Freedom and Empowerment are the first reasons why we women want to do what we want when we want. All of us have different masks when we interact with people around us. We tend to shape our behavior based on our friends, so naturally, you are no longer acting as yourself. You are someone else, someone shaped after your best friends. So, when you travel on your own, you get the freedom to be you. What a relief!
3. because we like the feeling of freedom and independence
When you travel alone as a woman, you are the most vulnerable, as you can rely only on yourself. There’s no man around you to rescue you. And this gives you the feeling of freedom and independence.
4. for meeting new people
There are a lot of places that are friendly for Solo Female Travelers and offer you countless adventures that will help you connect with other travelers or locals. Solo traveling is the best way to discover and embrace new cultures. When you are traveling with friends, you will be concentrated only on your group, and you will not be open to new experiences, or new people, as you are when you are traveling on your own.
5. for personal growth
Traveling alone builds your confidence and your self-esteem. Why? Because when you travel alone you open up to what life brings you. I don’t know, there is something so empowering and liberating about experiencing traveling on your own, that becomes like a drug.
6. for having different interests than our friends
I am a firm believer that authenticity is the key to a happy life. Being true to your feelings and interests is a very healthy behavior. This is why, more and more, women tend to respect their needs and interests and are ready to do those things on their own. As is perfectly normal. We should always act like this and not adapt our interests to please others.
7. because our partners do not want to travel as much
I know lots of women that do not travel because their partner is either too busy with work or does not like to travel as much as they do. And that’s such a pity to depend on others to be happy, to wander the world. I am happy to see that more women start to realize this is an obstacle and take action. This is not a surprise that this is among the principal reasons why women start traveling solo.
DOES ONE ONE THESE 7 REASONS APPLY TO YOU AS WELL?
