TRAVEL GUIDE to BELGIUM
This is your ultimate travel guide to Belgium!
CAPITAL: BRUSSELS
Belgium is home to the best beer, true French- fries (called frites), and chocolate in the world. With more than 3 000 castles to explore, battlegrounds from the World Wars and a lot of museums, Belgium is a destination for every Solo Traveler. Bruges is one of my favorite cities in Europe, after Florence, of course, which I find to be so romantic with such a fairy-tale vibe.
The origins of French fries can be found in Belgium, where historians claim potatoes were being fried since the late-1600s. Belgium is also home to the world’s unique, French Fry Museum.
Visiting Brussels or Bruges for a day is the best way to explore the region on a tight schedule.
SAY HELLO IN BELGIUM:
Salut, Bonjour = Hello/Good day – the formal way in French
Welkom = Hello – the formal way in Flemish

Best Time to visit
If you want to know how the weather is in Belgium, immagine the country is close to Germany, and unfortunately gets the weather as well.
During the winter months, November through March, it is cold, like any winter in Europe. however, it gives you the possibility to enjoy skiing and going to Belgium’s Christmas market in Brussels which is spectacular with its light spectacle. Nonetheless, the canals will freeze over, forming ice skating rinks!
Summer in Belgium, as with most European destinations, means warmer weather but a high peak in tourism as well. Be sure to book in advance!
