TRAVEL GUIDE to NEW ZEELAND
This is your ultimate travel guide to New Zeeland!
CAPITAL: WELLINGTON
New Zeeland will captivate you with its unique natural wonders and exotic wildlife. The amazing National Parks, glacier trekking, and many extreme sports put New Zeeland on the map for those who seek adventure and adrenaline.
New Zeeland has a rich history and an incredible Māori culture. I’m sure everyone has heard by now about the Hakas performed by All Black before every rugby game.
Traditionally, the Māori people of New Zealand performed haka to display a tribe’s pride, strength, and unity. The haka is, in fact, a war dance used to fire up warriors on the battlefield, but it’s also a customary way to celebrate, entertain, welcome, and challenge visiting tribes.
Nevertheless, there are way too many reasons to add New Zealand to your travel bucket list.
SAY HELLO IN NEW ZEELAND:
Kia Ora = A friendly and traditional Maori greeting for Hello and Thank you.
Tēnā koe – A formal greeting to say Good Day.

Language: New Zealand has three official languages: English, Maori, and New Zealand Sign Language, which is not that spread among travelers.
Currency: The currency in New Zealand is the New Zealand Dollar.
ATMs: Visa, MasterCard, or Maestro can be used everywhere for purchases or cash withdrawals. Bare in mind that your card must have a four-digit PIN code to work. European cards all come with a pin cond, but there are some American cards than don’t have a PIN attached to them. In this case, a REVOLUT credit card could be a perfect solution when traveling.
Plugs: The plugs are type I. The standard voltage is 230 V, and the standard frequency is 50Hz.
Railroads: New Zealand by rail can be a great way to see both the North and South Islands. The railway network in New Zealand consists of four main lines, six secondary lines, and numerous short branch lines in almost every region. New Zealand’s passenger rail lines include KiwiRail and steam lines throughout the country. Commuter train services operate in the Auckland and Greater Wellington region.
Safety: New Zealand is one of the safest countries in the world and also one of the best destinations for solo travelers.
Best Time to visit
Bare in mind that New Zeeland is in the Southern Hemisphere. Therefore, winters and summers are reversed than in Northern Hemisphere. This means when it’s summer in Europe, there’s winter in Australia.
Nevertheless, the best time to visit New Zealand is during the high season, which is Oceania’s summer months, from December through February.
Travel Insurance is more than recommended when traveling to New Zeeland, to make sure you are covered in case of any natural disasters that may prevent you from traveling.
