SOLO FEMALE TRAVEL GUIDE TO BALI
Going on a Solo Trip, especially as a female traveler can be overwhelming. I’ve been on so many Solo Travels that you would think I got used by now. But when I decided to book my longest solo trip ever, I had moments when I doubted I can do it. I am sure this happened to a lot of people before me, but when it happens to you it’s completely different.
Also, getting around in a new country, or different continent can be stressful, but no worries, getting around in Bali is super easy, safe, and most of all, cheap. You’ll have a blast.
So, here is my ULTIMATE Solo Female Travel GUIDE TO BALI.
GETTING AROUND AS A SOLO FEMALE TRAVELER
Although the traffic is very rough, getting around in Bali is very easy. I do not recommend you rent a car as you are not used to that traffic and it could be overwhelming. You can rent a scooter which is very practical and you can navigate better in between the cars.
Here is what you can do if you Travel Solo for the first time to Bali:
- You can book a personal driver for the day, that will walk you everywhere you need. I paid 400K IDR (27€ or 26 USD) and my driver was at all times with me, showing me around, entering with me everywhere I went and taking very nice pictures for me. They really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and deliver a bespoke service.
- Take a taxi scooter. For instance, if you need to go for a relatively short distance and spend the day there, just look for locals that propose to drive you with their scooter. I usually paid between 50K and 80K IDR (3-6 €/USD), depending on the distance. They provide you with a helmet, as it is forbidden in Bali to ride without a helmet.
- Use the Go-Jek or Grab app to book a taxi. There is a standard base fare for Bali taxis of around 0.44 €/USD (7K IDR), and an additional charge per km of around 0.47 €/USD (7.5K IDR).
- Rent a bike and ride like Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love for total satisfaction.

HIDDEN GEM: Hidden Canyon Beji Guwang, Bali
Here’s all you need to know about Hidden Canyon Beji Guwang:
1. Entrance Fee is 120.000 IDR (8.14€, 8.07$) and includes: a private tour guide, a small bottle of water, a shower and towel at the end of the trail, and covered insurance in case of some incident.
2. Hidden Canyon Beji Guwang, is a set of deep gorges alongside the Oos river. The river, flowing from Sanur to Ubud, has eroded the rocks deeply for over a hundred thousand years.
3. Hidden Canyon is a sacred place according to locals. By the way, Guwang means holy in Balinese. The canyon is still within the area of the village temple called Pura Dalem Guwang, which serves as a religious guardian for the area. The water from the canyon is used for the religious ceremony Melukat, a Hindu ritual where worshipers bathe in holy water.
Bali Swing
Swings in Bali should be on your Bucket List as a top attraction.
If you are kinda bored with the popular destinations or activities such as water sports, beaches, and temples, you could try this new activity. Adrenaline guaranteed.
Plus, most of the Bali swing cost comes with affordable prices: entry, dress rental, and professional photographer. Trust me, it’s worth every penny. There are plenty of swings in Bali. I went to the Aloha Swing. The advantage of Aloha Swing is that you can buy a full package and enjoy different types of swings, whereas in other locations you pay individually for each swing.
