THE BEST TIME TO VISIT BALI
1. TRAVELING DURING THE DRY SEASON IN BALI
The dry season is from May to early December!
August is the driest month in Bali. You can leave your raincoats or umbrellas at home! I’ve been in 2022 in August in Bali and during my 3 weeks, I had 2 days of rain. The rain usually lasts 2 hours maximum. In August, the southern monsoon is ramping up the winds, making it the dryest month of the year.
Due to the absence of rain and the fact that it is winter in Australia, the dry season is the busiest and most popular time to go to Bali. It is warm, and the humidity level is low all summer. I was so happy to see that my body does not retain water and I don’t have swollen feet due to low humidity. As the weather is so nice, you have a lot of choices in terms of activities.

2. TRAVELING DURING THE WET SEASON IN BALI
The wet season is from Late December to April!
Despite the rain that puts people off from traveling to Bali, it is warm even in the wet season. You may still enjoy hours at the beach, with lesser crowds. It is the perfect time to experience how to live like locals.
Among the regions that experience the monsoon season, Bali is the mild one. Rain can start and go on in one or two hours, sometimes even less, clouds will clear the sky in a heartbeat, leaving you with perfect weather.
You will enjoy even more spending time in Bali during this season, because of its tranquility. The summer effervescence is long gone, the hoards of tourists are nowhere to be seen and you can relax and chill in an almost empty restaurant or beach. The locals are even nicer than in summer, as they can focus even more on your well-being, giving you curated services. And let’s not forget about the prices. Everything is back to normal and very cheap.
Chinese New Year
Where: all over Bali
When: January – February depending on the Chinese calendar
The most remarkable Balinese event is the Chinese New Year. Beautifully decorated Chinese and Buddhist temples, mesmerizing performances of Chinese “Barongsaithe“ Lion and Dragon dance troops, and Chinese cuisines are the hallmark of New Year at Bali.
