Mexico is a place of great food that tastes like heaven. I was so surprised to find so many places where they had very good food, it was like paradise. I understand better now Taco Tuesdays in America and why you find so much Mexican food in the USA.

Despite finding a lot of good restaurants, I will give you a handful of my top restaurants where I’ve been more than once.

Exploring the region and eating the local food are two of my main reasons for traveling the world. There’s nothing better than getting out of your comfort zone and this always starts with your own place and food.

10 BEST FOOD PLACES IN MEXICO

MEXTREME, CANCUN

Restaurante MEXTREME can be found in Zona Hotelera, Boulevard Kukulcan Km 9.5 in Cancun.

You’ll find here very tasty fruits, a great breakfast, and an amazing atmosphere during the dinner service. I’ve eaten here the best Guacamole I’ve had in my life. And it was prepared in front of me.

THE HOT CORNER, HOLBOX

If you’re on the island, then this will be the place where you will spend your late afternoons. You don’t want to miss the atmosphere, the live music, people dancing and having a good time while sipping a cold Corona beer.

BAH BAH! HOLBOX

Bah Bah! Restaurante Holbox -a charming terrace- is your DO-NOT-MISS breakfast spot if you are on the island.

Lots of variety for breakfast in a greeny space. Delicious pancakes and presentation. The cappuccino was extremely good and trust me, I am very picky when it comes to cappuccinos.

LA BODEGUITA DEL MEDIO, PLAYA DEL CARMEN

This is a true Cuban restaurant, but it is the best place to be in Playa del Carmen. Great Mojito, the best I’ve ever had in my life and life Cuban music with people dancing and having fun. Just go there if you are in Playa del Carmen.

CHOUX CHOUX CAFE, PLAYA DEL CARMEN

I love a good breakfast spot when I travel because I never know if I will have time for lunch. So, I always go for a good breakfast and a nice dinner. And this place in Playa del Carmen was among my favorite places to have a royal breakfast.

TROPICAL, PLAYA DEL CARMEN

This is the place to be if you want to eat in a Frida Kahlo be-spoke restaurant with excellent Mexican food. Very big dishes and the fish is just incredible. Big tasty cocktails to prepare you for the wild night-life in Playa del Carmen.

RAW LOVE, TULUM

This was by far my favorite place in the entire Yucatan. Fresh and tasty Buddha Bowl, exactly how I like it, with fresh juices and a chill atmosphere. They even had one day a guy that was playing some sounds from a gong to purify your energies.

ROSANEGRA, TULUM

I stumbled upon by chance this amazing Latin American restaurant type, thanks to the vibe you could spot from the main road. So, I decided to have my Birthday Party here and was the best decision ever.

MATCHA MAMA, tulum

Very Instagramable place and a great spot to have a refreshing Matcha. You will find this place in Pueblo Tulum, but also in Zona Hotelera. You need to order at the till point and bring your order to the table. But they will not impose you propina of 20%.

BAGATELLE, TULUM

Bagatelle is a contemporary French Mediterranean restaurant founded in 2008 with a presence all over the world. One of them is in Tulum and has a high-end cuisine restaurant and a Beach Club in zona hotelera in Tulum.
